Kashmir and Down the Ganges 2014
This Indian journey began in Kashmir but most time was spent on small boats on the Ganges River. Holy River Ganga, called the Mother Ganges, flows for 1,560 miles from the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal. This river is life, purity and a goddess of the people of India. A richness of experiences, unfolded in front of us, from a million person festival on the riverbank to the cremation site of Varanasi. Our boat and sandy beach campsite provided shelter at night. The journey ended in the northern towns of Rishikesh and Haridwar.
