Peru and Festivals of Virgin del Carmen

Peru is a collage of Incan festivals, Catholic rites and a rich array of cultural and architectural experiences. Cradle of Incan civilization, Peru's history and her people are something of a wonder.Travelling from Lima to Cusco, through Colca Canyon, to Lake Titicaca, Arequipa, Lampa, Ollantatambo and finally Machu Picchu the terrain was spectacular. The highlight was the Festival of the Mamacha del Carmen in Paucartambo where thousands of believers came to celebrate the festivity of the Virgin Del Carmen. Dance, song, floats, costumes, masks, food and drink all add to the spectacle of faith and worship which ends in a great big party.
